Welcome to the HCA Florida Blake Hospital Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program. Our program received initial accreditation with commendation by the ACGME in early 2022.

The CVD fellowship supports two new fellows per year for three years of training. The program is designed to provide fellows with a broad-based exposure to cardiovascular disease cases with the goal of preparing our trainees for careers as cardiovascular disease subspecialist.

The CVD fellowship program will exist in conjunction with our fully-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program. The strength of our training program is the tremendous depth and breadth of our clinical care.

Our dedicated faculty, supported by the significant resources of HCA Healthcare, provide our trainees with the basic and clinical knowledge, procedural skills, clinical judgment, professionalism and interpersonal skills necessary for a successful career in cardiovascular disease.

I am proud to be the inaugural program director for this fellowship. I graduated from Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY; completed my residency in Internal Medicine at the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center - Brooklyn, NY; and completed cardiovascular disease fellowship training at University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.  Affiliated since 1985 with HCA Florida Blake Hospital, I served as Chief of Staff and Chief of Medicine and am currently a board member on the HCA Florida Blake Hospital Board of Trustees. I have also been core faculty in the Internal Medicine Residency Program since its inception in 2015.

I invite you to consider our program to determine if it best fits your career goals. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,
Robert J Subbiondo, MD, FACC
Program Director
