Michelle S. Ozcan, MD, FACOG
Program Director

Dr. Ozcan is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine & completed residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. She has numerous publications & presentations and serves on several education committees. Awards and recognitions include: the ACOG District XII Mentor of the Year Award; UCF Educational Excellence Award; the UF Exemplary Teacher Award; the CREOG Faculty Teaching Award for Excellence in Resident Education; the Golden Apple Teaching Award; and the Excellence in CREOG Award. She also serves as the Chair of the Council of Residency Program Directors for ACOG District XII.

Angela Guzman, MD, FACOG
Associate Program Director

Dr. Guzman received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the Florida State University. She remained at Florida State University for medical school, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando, FL where she was selected to serve as Administrative Chief Resident. After practicing in Central Florida, she transitioned to academic medicine to pursue her passion for teaching. She is committed to providing the highest quality care for all women.

Mark Palazzolo, DO, FACOOG
Assistant Program Director

Dr. Palazzolo graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency training at St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Palazzolo has been active in the teaching of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2005. Present and past academic appointments include: Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Teaching Faculty at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Sara Meinz, DO
Subspecialty Faculty Educator - Gynecologic Oncology

Dr. Meinz is board-certified in Gynecologic Oncology and is an expert utilizing the robot for minimally invasive procedures. She earned her bachelor degree at the University of Wisconsin and her medical degree from Des Moines University in Iowa. She completed residency in Detroit and fellowship in Central Florida. She loves teaching OB/GYN residents and helping them hone their surgical skills. Dr. Meinz has two young sons and is very involved in their extracurricular activities. She is an avid biker, learning to play the cello, and a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan!

Mark Trolice, MD
Subspecialty Faculty Educator - Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility

Mark Trolice, MD earned his bachelor degree at Columbia University and medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson in NJ. His residency was at Jersey Shore Medical Center and fellowship at the University of Connecticut. He is currently Professor of OB/GYN at UCF College of Medicine. He is board-certified in REI and OB/GYN and receives the AMA Physicians’ Recognition Award annually. He recently received the ACOG District XII Mentor of the Year award. His new book is “The Fertility Doctor's Guide to Overcoming Infertility.”

Thomas Myles, MD
Subspecialty Faculty Educator - Maternal Fetal Medicine

Dr Myles is a graduate of Saint Louis University School of Medicine, OB/Gyn residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes. He is currently a Clinical Professor at the University of Central Florida. He has well over 100 publications, abstracts and book chapters. He has been recognized for excellence in teaching on multiple occasions including the APGO Excellence in Teaching Award.

Jessica Feranec, MD
Subspecialty Faculty Educator - FPMRS

Dr. Feranec completed her residency and a Master Educator Fellowship at the University of Florida, followed by fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery & Pelvic Pain at Florida Hospital. She is a urogynecologist and the Chief of Surgery at the Orlando VA Health Care System. She is an Associate Professor at UCF and the Assistant Program Director for the AAGL Minimally Invasive Surgery & Advanced Gynecology fellowship program at the Orlando VAHCS. She also serves as a consultant for the VA Central Office as a Senior Pelvic Floor Disorder Expert to Women’s Health Services, Reproductive Health.

Virgil Reid, MD
Subspecialty Faculty Educator - Complex Family Planning

Dr. Gil Reid (he/him/his) is the Associate Medical Director for Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida, the Director of its Clinical Abortion Training Center, and the program director for abortion services. Dr. Reid attended medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Faculty

Veronica Figueroa, MD

Dr. Veronica Figueroa completed her B.S. at the University of Puerto Rico and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She went on to pursue her MD at the University of Puerto Rico’s School of Medicine in 2006. Dr. Figueroa completed her residency at the Ponce School of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology She has earned many honors and distinctions including first place in these categories: Adolescent Pregnancy Demographics and Corresponding Neonatal Outcomes, and Prevalence and Susceptibility of GBS Strains. In 2020, Dr. Figueroa received the Distinguished Resident Educator Award for her excellence in both resident education and mentorship. Dr. Figueroa is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Susanne Osborne, MD

Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada, Dr. Osborne received her Medical Degree from Loma Linda University. She then went on to residency training at Bridgeport Hospital-Yale University Program where she received awards for Excellence in Teaching. Since 2019, Dr. Osborne has been the OBGYN Clerkship Co-Director at The University of Central Florida College of Medicine.

Margarita Olivares, MD

Dr. Olivares received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Puerto Rico and moved on to receive her Medical Degree in 2001 from University of Puerto Rico as well. She completed her residency training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York, New York. Dr. Olivares is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Ana Benitez-Prieto, MD

Dr. Benitez-Prieto obtained a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus and obtained her medical degree in 2007 at the University of Puerto Rico’s School of Medicine. She then completed a transitional year program at Damas Hospital in Ponce PR. For Obstetrics and Gynecology training, she relocated to Upstate NY in 2008 to complete her residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. Dr Benitez-Prieto has a special interest in breast feeding, having completed her residency research project on resident breast feeding education. She is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Jorge Carrillo, MD

Dr. Carrillo obtained his M.D. degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in Bogotá-Colombia and his OBGYN residency at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. He then completed a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (FMIGS) with an emphasis in chronic pelvic pain conditions at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He subsequently completed a 2-year Dean’s Teaching Fellowship. In 2017, he joined the Orlando VA Healthcare System as a chronic pelvic pain specialist and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon. He is an Associate Professor of OB/Gyn for UCF, serves as one of the Orlando VA FMIGS fellowship faculty, and is the Site Director for the UCF/HCA Healthcare OB/Gyn Residency Program. He currently is completing his Master’s for the Health Professions Education. Dr Carrillo is one of the Board of Directors for the International Pelvic Pain Society and currently is the Associate Scientific Program Director for the 2020 IPPS Annual Scientific Meeting.

Georgine Lamvu, MD, MPH

Dr. Lamvu graduated from Duke University and completed her residency and a Masters in Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. She serves as the Director of the Orlando VAHCS Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecology and as Chair of the International Pelvic Pain Society. In her role as UCF Professor she teaches and mentors medical students and residents in research and advanced Gynecology. Her research and publications focus on chronic pelvic pain conditions.

Anthony Gyang, MBChB

Dr Gyang graduated from University of Ghana Medical School and completed his internship at Howard University Hospital in Washington DC, and residency at Franklin Square Hospital, Baltimore. He completed a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecology and Chronic Pelvic Pain management at Advent Health, Orlando. He has numerous awards, presentations and publications and serves as a reviewer of numerous journals. He is currently involved in many clinical research trials.

Claudia Taboada, DO

Dr. Taboada is a board-certified Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist. She completed her MFM Fellowship at Pinnacle Health in PA. She was previously on the MFM staff at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where she was the founder and medical director of the STRENGTH program for opioid-dependent pregnant women. She held academic appointments at UPMC Pinnacle and Penn State Hershey Medical Center from 2009 through 2019. Dr. Taboada has published medical journal articles on the management of sickle-cell anemia in pregnancy, ovarian cancer, and ultrasound and has lectured on topics such as alcohol and drug use in pregnancy.

Lindsay Maggio, MD, MPH

Dr. Maggio is a board-certified Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist. She completed her residency in OB/Gyn at Baylor College of Medicine and her Fellowship in MFM at Brown University. Dr. Maggio was previously an MFM physician and high-risk pregnancy consultant at AdventHealth Orlando Hospital. Dr. Maggio has also been an assistant professor at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. Her clinical interests include: OB complications, placenta accreta, and hemoglobinopathies.

Laurel Stadtmauer, MD, PhD

Dr. Stadtmauer has > 20 years of experience in the diagnosis & treatment of female and male infertility, reproductive surgery, and IVF. She received her medical degree with a PhD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by OB/Gyn residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital & fellowship REI at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Her research and publications are related to reproductive & robotic surgery, 3-D ultrasound imaging, IVF, implantation, PCOS, ovarian reserve, fertility preservation, and more. She was one of the founding faculty members of the REI module for the Distance EVMS Masters in Embryology & Reproductive Biology Program. Dr. Stadtmauer has a passion and joy for her patients and for helping them build their family and achieve their dreams. She has numerous accolades for her high-quality and patient-centered care.

Michael DeNardis, DO

Michael R. DeNardis, D.O., FACOOG is one of the founding partners of Osceola OB-GYN Clinic, opened in 2007. Dr. DeNardis earned his B.S. in Biology at the University of Michigan before attending Wayne State University for his Graduate Studies. He attended Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. DeNardis did his internship at St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital and his residency in Detroit at the same hospital in the OB-GYN Department.

James Sorensen, DO

Dr. Sorensen received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University and completed his residency at UCF/HCA Healthcare GME OBGYN Residency Program of Greater Orlando. Dr. Sorensen enjoys practicing in the central Florida community and robotic surgery.

Joseph Stewart, MD

Dr. Stewart attended Medical School at Wright State University School of Medicine and completed residency in OB/Gyn at Akron General Medical Center in Ohio. He is Board Certified in OB/Gyn and built a thriving practice in Rockford Illinois that served the community for 25 years. Dr. Stewart’s career has emphasized minimally invasive surgical technique and the pursuit of safer surgeries and faster recoveries. His professional interests include Robotic Gynecologic Surgery and Enhanced Recovery Protocols that allow patients the very best experience in surgical recovery. He is married to his wife Shelly. They have twin boys that are recent graduates of Medical School and their daughter recently graduated from Dental School.

Alex Rojas, MD

Dr. Alex Rojas attended Lisandro Alvarado University Centroccidental where he received his medical degree. He completed his residency training at the University of Puerto Rico Hospital. He completed a Research Fellowship in the REI department at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. Dr. Rojas is ABOG board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Bhupendrakumar Patel, MBBS

Dr. Patel is ABOG board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology with over 40 years of experience. He received his medical degree from B.J. Medical College-Haripura. He completed his residency training at Wayne State University School of Medicine Interfaith Medical Center.

Jaimee Castillo-Quek, MD

Dr. Castillo-Quek earned her medical degree at the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed her OB/GYN residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. Dr. Castillo-Quek has a passion for educating young women about contraception, managing high-risk conditions such as diabetes and hypertension in pregnancy, and performing robotic surgery.

Heather Wright, DO

Dr. Wright received her medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at UCF/HCA Healthcare GME OBGYN Residency Program of Greater Orlando. Dr. Wright enjoys providing obstetrical and gynecologic services in the central Florida community.

Deborah Spiers, DO

Dr. Spiers, originally from Dearborn, Michigan, is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Spiers received her BA in Biology from Albion College in Albion, MI. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition to her clinical faculty appointment at the UCF College of Medicine, Dr. Spiers also serves as the current chairperson of the OB-GYN department at Oviedo Medical Center.

Chensi Ouyang, MD

Dr. Ouyang is an FMIGS-trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologist who specializes in laparoscopic and robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery. She also specializes in the management of chronic pelvic pain and female pelvic floor disorders including endometriosis, pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, painful bladder syndrome, pudendal neuralgia and sexual dysfunction. She completed medical school at Harvard University, OB/Gyn residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore, and fellowship in MIGS at Florida Hospital. She is currently a full time Gynecology physician at the Orlando VA Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Central Florida.

Sujatha Prabhakaran, MD

Dr. Prabhakaran is a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Medicine and completed her residency at Wake Forest University. She also completed a women’s health research fellowship and her MPH in Health Policy and Administration at the University of North Carolina. She currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida, serves on the ACOG District XII Legislative and Professional Liability Committee, and holds clinical faculty appointments at the University of South Florida and Florida State University.

Nicole Fanarjian, MD

Dr. Nicole Fanarjian obtained her medical degree at Albany Medical College. She then went to the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine where she completed her OBGYN residency. She is an expert in contraception and abortion care. Dr. Fanarjian has a small gyn-only practice in Tampa and works part-time at Planned Parenthood of Southwest & Central Florida. Dr. Fanarjian is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Tiffany Grigsby, RDMS

Ms. Tiffany Grigsby is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with over 12 years of experience. She is the lead OB/Gyn Sonographer for Woman’s Health Centers with 7 locations in Central Florida.
