My goal as program director is to develop an emergency medicine residency program dedicated to the highest quality and the most compassionate patient care. While all emergency medicine residency programs share a commitment to their patients, for me, it is much more personal and the foundation of my career. I completed my residency, fellowship, and the first years of my career at a county hospital treating the underserved and I am bringing that commitment to community service to our new program. Here, we will not forget that what truly matters is the community that we serve and that we love. Our
mission here is to provide that best care for our community at the bedside! We love going the extra mile for our patients. At HCA Kingwood, even when our emergency room is busy, bustling and sometimes chaotic, exceptional patient care is our top priority.
I have been so happy to join the HCA family after a long career developing myself as an educator at a more traditional academic center. HCA offers a breadth and depth of resources that allow me to provide to my residents the absolute best in graduate medical education. They offer the resources, but it is ultimately up to me to create the culture of the program. I am proud of the culture that we have created here: loving each other like family, being all-in for our patients and being service focused. This combination of culture and resources is a recipe for success and top notch training.
I know firsthand the trust it takes for a resident to join a new program as I was myself the inaugural graduate of a new program. I wish that each of you could come and experience for yourself the culture and feel of our program. We have the tools, resources, and clinical exposure to make a singular emergency medicine residency program and I commit myself to you personally to making this an amazing experience for each of my residents.
