Charles Harper, DO, Program Director
Dr. Harper is a proud local graduate of the General Surgery Residency at Kansas City University – St. Mary’s Medical Center. His academic journey began with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno, followed by medical school at Touro University in the San Francisco Bay Area. After earning his Doctor of Osteopathy, he completed a year-long internship at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, California, before completing his general surgery residency at Kansas City University – St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Today, Dr. Harper, his wife, and their children call Lee’s Summit home. Outside of the OR, he enjoys teaching at his local church, where he’s also plays in the band (proof that surgeons can, in fact, keep time). When he’s not mentoring trainees or strumming chords, you can usually find him cooking with his wife, sampling Kansas City’s vibrant food scene, or simply soaking up family time.
