Welcome to the HCA Florida Blake Hospital Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) Fellowship Program. It is my privilege to introduce you to a program that received its initial ACGME accreditation on January 28, 2026, and is approved for two fellowship positions. We are proud to offer comprehensive and rigorous training experience designed to prepare the next generation of expert electrophysiologists.
Our fellowship provides extensive exposure to complex arrhythmia management, advanced mapping technologies, and a broad range of electrophysiology procedures. In addition to hands-on experience in the EP Lab, our fellows complete a dedicated outpatient rotation at Heart Rhythm Consultants–Bradenton, where they gain valuable experience in device interrogation and programming, long‑term arrhythmia management, patient counseling, and shared decision‑making alongside seasoned electrophysiologists. This balanced training framework ensures readiness for independent outpatient and procedural EP practice.
Our program works in close collaboration with our Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship Program and our Internal Medicine Residency Program. The strength of our training environment lies in the depth and breadth of clinical exposure available at HCA Florida Blake Hospital. Our exceptional faculty, supported by the extensive resources of HCA Healthcare, are committed to helping fellows develop the medical knowledge, procedural skills, professional values, and clinical judgment necessary for a successful career in Cardiac Electrophysiology.
As the inaugural Program Director, I am honored to lead this fellowship. My own training journey began at the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, India, followed by residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. I completed both my cardiovascular disease and electrophysiology fellowships at the Medical College of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Since July 2022, I have served as core faculty — and as director of the EKG Conference and EP Lab — here at HCA Florida Blake Hospital.
I invite you to explore our program and consider whether it aligns with your professional aspirations. Should you have any questions, we welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
Warm regards,
Rajesh Malik, MBBS
