Dr. Hadi Shaaban, DO, MS, FACS, Program Director, is a founding faculty member and serves as the Program Director for the UCF/HCA Florida (Fort Walton-Destin) Surgial Critical Care Fellowship.
Dr. Shaaban completed his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, and medical school at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. Afterwards he completed a General Surgery Residency through Michigan State University in Detroit, Michigan, followed by surgical critical care at Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois. Dr. Shaaban continued his fellowship training in burn surgery at the Univeristy of Iowa and quality and patient safety at Loyola University. Dr Shaaban obtained his Master’s degree in Healthcare Adminsistration through the University of Texas – Dallas Physician Alliance Program. Dr. Shaaban serves as a member of the United States Army as a Forward Surgeon in the 909th FRSD at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
Dr. Shaaban's academic interest is focused on applied physiology, applied pharmacology, advanced skin therapeutics, population health and outcomes.
As Program Director, Dr. Shaaban is primarily responsible for oversight and administration of the program. He will provide clinical supervision, oversee the didactic curriculum, conduct administration, and complete scholarly activities.
Dr. William Hunt, MD, Core Faculty, is an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.
As core faculty, Dr. Hunt is primarily responsible for clinical supervision, scholarly activity, and didactic training.
