Thank you for exploring our Dermatology Residency Program at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery located in beautiful Blacksburg, Virginia! Our program is well-established and has been training residents since 2008.
Due to our unique location next to Virginia Tech, we have a large variety of patient populations to prepare our resident physicians for independent practice. Furthermore, being an HCA facility, we connect you to the largest healthcare organization and the largest sponsor of graduate medical education in the United States, giving you the best of both worlds - academics and research opportunities as well as community-based training in a smaller setting.
I have served as the program director for the dermatology program since January, 2018 and was core faculty prior to the director position. I was born and raised in the New River Valley in Peterstown, West Virginia. After attending the West Virginia University for undergrad, I completed medical school at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my residency program at the Charleston Area Medical Center and West Virginia University, where I served as the chief resident of dermatology from 2008-2009. I have practiced dermatology in the New River Valley since 2009 and opened River Ridge Dermatology in 2011.
Our faculty are all certified by the American Board of Dermatology in addition to two faculty members who are MOHS certified. All of our core faculty have been a part of the dermatology program for many years providing our program with stability and decades of experience, both as dermatology physicians as well as teaching faculty.
