Welcome from our program director

Thank you for your interest in our program! Our fellowship program is committed to training the next generation of pulmonary and critical care physicians who provide equitable, compassionate, and patient-centered care without bias. Fellows develop a strong foundation in pulmonary and critical care medicine grounded in current clinical guidelines, evidence-based practice, and emerging innovations, while developing expertise in advanced diagnostic and life-saving procedures.

The program also fosters opportunities for fellows to teach, lead multidisciplinary teams, and engage meaningfully with the community, while participating in ethical, high-quality research. Through this comprehensive training environment, we strive to cultivate skilled clinicians, thoughtful scholars, and principled leaders who will contribute to advancing the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine.

Program information

As part of HCA Healthcare, we are driven by a single mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. In alignment, the mission of the University of Central Florida/HCA Florida Ocala Hospital Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program is to provide comprehensive, hands-on training that equips fellows with the knowledge and skills necessary to become leaders and experts in the treatment of acute and chronic respiratory conditions and critical care management.

Fellows will engage in multidisciplinary training under the supervision of experienced faculty physicians who serve as mentors and role models in their fields.

The program strives to create a learning environment that fosters inclusiveness, lifelong learning, evidence-based medicine, and professional interactions with patients, their families, and members of the healthcare team. Progressive responsibility will be granted to the fellows throughout the course of their 36 months of training as they acquire the skills to become effective leaders and advance towards independent practice.
