Raj Karunakara, MD, MS, FCCP, FAASM

He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine, based at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. He completed fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at SUNY Health Science Center, Brooklyn, following an Internal Medicine residency at Unity Health System, Rochester, a University of Rochester affiliate. Dr. Karunakara holds a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Pittsburgh and earned his MBBS from T.D. Medical College, University of Kerala, India.

He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Neurocritical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine, and holds National Board of Echocardiography certification in Critical Care Echocardiography. Dr. Karunakara is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (FAASM).

His clinical and academic interests include dyspnea, intermittent hypoxia during sleep, exercise testing in cardiopulmonary disorders as well as participation in multicenter clinical trials involving idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). He is actively involved in resident education, with a focus on point of care ultrasound (POCUS) and case-based simulation training in the simulation laboratory, aimed at strengthening clinical decision making and procedural competence.

Jose A. Delgado-Elvir, MD, FCCP, FACP

Andrew Seevaratnam, MD

He is a board-certified Pulmonologist and Critical Care Physician at Ocala Lung & Critical Care in Ocala, Florida. He completed his Pulmonary fellowship at Norwalk Hospital/Yale School of Medicine and Critical Care fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale School of Medicine. He served as Chief Resident of Internal Medicine and has been actively involved in teaching medical students and residents. His clinical interests include lung cancer, advanced bronchoscopy, early detection of lung cancer. He is passionate about medical education and mentoring the next generation of physicians.
