Welcome from the Program Director
On behalf of our faculty, residents, and Graduate Medical Education team, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Transitional Year Residency Program at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota, affiliated with HCA Florida Healthcare and the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.
Our ACGME-accredited program is committed to providing a comprehensive, well-rounded clinical education that prepares residents for success in their chosen specialties. With nine residents per academic year, we offer a supportive and collaborative learning environment that emphasizes individualized mentorship, professional development, and excellence in patient care.
Our hospital is an all-private-room facility recognized for award-winning, patient-centered care. Since 1967, we have proudly served the communities of Sarasota, Manatee, North Charlotte, and DeSoto counties with excellence and integrity. Our commitment to quality and patient safety has been recognized through 15 consecutive “A” grades from The Leapfrog Group, as well as the Guardian of Excellence and Pinnacle of Excellence Awards from Press Ganey.
Our curriculum includes core clinical rotations in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, and other essential disciplines. These experiences are complemented by elective opportunities tailored to each resident’s individual career goals and future specialty training.
