We are proud to introduce our Critical Care Fellowship Director, Dr. Nabir Babbar — intensivist, educator, ECMO Medical Director, and dedicated leader committed to shaping the next generation of critical care physicians.

Serving as Critical Care Site Director, ECMO Program Director, Associate ICU Medical Director, and Core Faculty across multiple residency programs, Dr. Babbar brings a vision focused on innovation, education, collaboration, and excellence in advanced critical care medicine.

Training in our program means more than learning ICU medicine — it means becoming part of a high-acuity, multidisciplinary critical care team. Fellows gain experience in advanced ventilator management, bedside ultrasound, cardiovascular critical care, neurocritical care, trauma, procedural medicine, and extracorporeal life support (ECMO), training at the forefront of modern critical care.

"Teaching is one of the most rewarding parts of medicine. Watching residents and fellows grow into confident physicians who can lead during life's most critical moments is deeply meaningful. Our mission is to develop not only skilled intensivists, but future leaders in medicine."
Our fellowship vision includes:

  • Building a nationally recognized critical care training program
  • Expanding ECMO and shock care education
  • Advancing procedural and ultrasound excellence
  • Fostering mentorship, academic growth, and research
  • Training compassionate physicians who thrive in high-acuity environments
  • Creating a culture of teamwork, resilience, innovation, and excellence

As a regional ECMO referral center with a rapidly expanding critical care program, we provide cutting-edge therapies, simulation-based training, multidisciplinary collaboration, and next-generation ICU education.

The future of critical care is evolving — and we are building a fellowship designed to lead that future.
Welcome to the next era of Critical Care Medicine.
Welcome to the team.
