Timothy Connelly, MD, MBA, FACP, Program Director
Dr. Connelly graduated medical school at the University of Saint Eustatius School of Medicine. He completed Internal Medicine residency at Memorial Health; he served as Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. Connelly joined the Internal Medicine faculty in 2012. He is actively involved in IT initiatives at Memorial, including the implementation of the Epic Enterprise EHR. Tim Connelly is Double Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the ABIM and Clinical Informatics by the ABPM. He holds an MBA from Georgia Southern University and teaches all of our residents the business of medicine as part of their TY Journey. In Jan 2026 he was named the Georgia Hospital Association 2025 Physician Hero of the Year and is currently a full Professor of Medicine with Mercer University School of Medicine. He wrote questions for the national certification by American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians and was one of the authors of their Physician Advisor Handbook for Utilization Review Physicians. (He wrote the book and the test the insurance doctors have to take so I know how to beat them when fighting for our patients to get what they need). He is married and have 3 beautiful children.
Michael Ruiz, MD, Associate Program Director
Dr. Ruiz is a graduate of Armstrong State University, and the Medical College of Georgia. He completed residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
