About our program
Fellows from our program leave prepared to provide comprehensive care to patients with the full spectrum of endocrine disorders. Partnering with a large outpatient practice in Las Vegas, our fellowship places an emphasis on preparing trainees for caring for patients in the outpatient setting.
Fellows will care for complex diabetic patients utilizing the latest technology including insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring systems. Trainees will also gain valuable experience with the latest pharmacologic therapies in diabetes-- including those in development by virtue of a clinical research center affiliated with the practice.
Our program also affords fellows unique opportunities to train with providers who are skilled in performing diagnostic thyroid ultrasound, ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration, and techniques in thyroid thermal ablation.
The Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship at MountainView Hospital is Sunrise Graduate Medical Education Consortium's flagship program within HCA. This means that we are the leaders for other fellowships to come and serve a dire need within an aging community. There is ample support from MountainView Hospital, the Consortium, and the greater Las Vegas Valley to produce competent compassionate physicians to fill a great need that has long been missing from Nevada. Upon graduation and even before then, our fellows have opportunities to grow and expand into the practitioners they wish to be. Whether that means working within the hospital system, giving back by becoming part of the GME- educational and clinical system, or opening their own practices, the sky's the limit!
HCA Healthcare is the largest sponsor of Graduate Medical Education in the nation.
By joining HCA Healthcare, you open the door not only to exceptional medical training experience, but also the opportunity for a fulfilling career across our nationwide network of top-performing hospitals, surgery and urgent care centers.

Welcome letter
Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Sunrise Health GME Consortium Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship program. This is an ACGME-accredited 2-year program based at MountainView Hospital and Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas.
Our program prepares physicians for rewarding careers in the field of endocrinology. Graduates of this program will be trained and fully equipped to function as clinical endocrinologists, clinical educators, or clinician scientists, depending on their individual career goals.
The City of Las Vegas provides the setting for extensive experience in patient care. The facilities at which fellows rotate add to this experience by providing a diverse patient population ranging from those with common endocrinopathy to those who need advanced multidisciplinary care.
The mission of the program is to steadily improve the quality of care for patients within our region which remains underserved. Our goal is to produce competent endocrinologists who will contribute towards advancing the program’s mission.
