Psychotherapy
Our program places a strong emphasis on psychotherapy training for all residents. Psychotherapy didactics begin from week 1 of PGY 1 year and continue for all four years. Beginning January of PGY 2, each resident is assigned to a VA psychotherapy supervisor to participate in half day psychotherapy clinic. In PGY 3, residents are assigned two psychotherapy supervisors: VA and Osceola. Therapy modalities taught include CBT, psychodynamic, DBT, supportive, ACT, PE, and combined med management and therapy. Senior residents are able to participate in one to two days intensive psychotherapy trainings offered by Orlando VA therapists. During AY 2022-2023 we’ll have a Psychotherapy Track as part of our curriculum.
