About HCA Florida Aventura Hospital
Aventura Hospital is a Tertiary Care 467-bed acute-care hospital serving the healthcare needs of Miami-Dade County and its surrounding communities for more than 55 years; the hospital completed a recent $76 million capital investment effort to expand its emergency room, construct a new patient tower, and to upgrade the entire facility and GME spaces.
The hospital is a Florida Statutory Teaching Hospital that supports more than 14 residency and fellowship programs and over 160 residents and fellows; the hospital is also a primary teaching hospital for several partner medical schools [i.e. Nova Southeastern College of Medicine and Florida International University], and a part of HCA East Florida’s GME consortium, with 10 GME teaching hospitals, and over 45 residency and fellowship programs.
Named among America’s 250 best hospitals and among America’s 100 best hospitals for critical care services by Healthgrades, Aventura hospital is a Level II Trauma Center, Gastrointestinal Surgery Center of Excellence, a certified Cardiac Care- and Stroke center, and holds the Comprehensive Community Cancer Program designation from the American Commission on Cancer.
Hospital- and GME leadership are proud to deliver world-class education to the residents and fellows in the HCA Aventura Hospital GME programs, in a collegial, supportive and collaborative environment that is focused on resident wellness/satisfaction and the success of each learner. Aventura’s GME programs boast near 100% initial attempt specialty board pass rates, over 90% fellowship match rates for those residents seeking sub-specialty training, retention of > 30% of graduates with HCA or its strategic clinical partners, and active engagement of all of its learners in research and scholarship.
The hospital is located in Hallandale Beach in southern Broward County, a 20-minute drive north of Downtown Miami, and 20 minutes south of Fort Lauderdale; Hallandale Beach has become a top-rated place to live, thanks to its pristine stretch of beaches, vibrant and eclectic culture, and abundance of things to do.
