Kendall hospital is a Tertiary Care 447-bed acute care hospital serving the healthcare needs of Miami-Dade County for more than 46 years. The hospital is one of only two American College of Surgeons certified Level I Trauma Centers in Miami-Dade County and is committed to the highest level of quality care. Kendall Hospital has received recognition as being among America's 250 Best Hospitals with a Top 5% Clinical Excellence Award from Healthgrades, certification as Burn Center from the American Burn Association, certification as Stroke Center with recognition as Top Performer in Key Quality Measures from The Joint Commission, and recognition for being in the top 50 hospitals for Gastrointestinal Surgery and surgical excellence.
Kendall hospital has recently engaged a multi-million-dollar renovation effort to upgrade key functional areas and all GME spaces within the hospital. This effort will also add modern Simulation spaces for all programs.
The hospital is a Florida Statutory teaching Hospital and supports 7 residency and fellowship programs with over 150 residents and fellows, a primary teaching hospital for several partner medical schools [i.e. Nova Southeastern College of Medicine and Florida International University] and GME programs from partner health systems, as well as an integral part of HCA East Florida’s GME consortium, with 10 teaching hospitals, and over 45 residency and fellowship programs.
Hospital- and GME leadership are proud to deliver world-class education to the residents and fellows in the HCA Kendall Hospital GME programs, in a collegial, supportive and collaborative environment that is focused on resident wellness/satisfaction and the success of each learner. Kendall’s GME programs boast near 100% initial attempt specialty board pass rates, over 90% fellowship match rates for those residents seeking sub-specialty training, retention of > 30% of graduates with HCA or its strategic clinical partners, and active engagement of all of its learners in research and scholarship.
Kendall hospital is located in in southern Broward County/Miami Dade. Living in Miami Dade County offers exposure to a wide variety of communities and cultures; Less than ½ hour away from Coconut Grove and Downtown Miami, the area has become a top-rated place to live, thanks to the abundance of things to do and access to pristine beaches, and the vibrant and eclectic cultures that make up the metropolitan area of Miami.
