Welcome, and thank you for visiting the HCA Florida Palms West Pediatric Residency! We are a pediatric residency program based in a 206-bed community hospital in South Florida with 22 inpatient pediatric, 10 pediatric intensive care, and 18 Neonatal level 3 intensive care beds. Our Department of Pediatrics is composed of board-certified pediatricians and almost all pediatric subspecialists, including pediatric hospitalists, neonatologists, pediatric intensivists, gastroenterologists, hematology/oncologists, infectious disease, nephrologists, cardiologists, pediatric surgeons, endocrinologists, neurologists, and pulmonologists. With this broad and accessible number of physicians, our residents leave our program well prepared to work in primary care, practice hospital medicine, or enter fellowship.

Our program's South Florida location, between urban West Palm Beach and the agricultural communities of South-Central Florida, assures a diverse patient population with an interesting mix of pathology. South Florida will provide you with the wonders of the warm and sunny climate, beautiful parks and landscapes with multiple recreational opportunities, great restaurants, music, and festivals. There is no shortage of things to do outside the hospital for our residents to enjoy during their free time.
Our mission is to train competent general pediatricians who will, as a result of their education, have career flexibility and can benefit from a variety of professional opportunities, such as general pediatrics practice, subspecialty fellowship training, or a career in academic medicine, with the ultimate goal of positively influencing and improving child wellbeing and health through clinical care, instruction, advocacy, or research.

It's an honor to share our program with you, and we sincerely hope you will think about moving on with your career through our pediatric residency program.

Sincerely,

Annette Santiago MD, FAAP
Interim Program Director
