Nick Connors, MD, FACEP

Dr. Connors trained in Emergency Medicine at New York-Presbyterian, serving as Chief Resident, then completed a medical toxicology fellowship at NYU Bellevue. He received multiple teaching awards while on faculty at Medical University of South Carolina. He is a consultant with the Palmetto Poison Center and lectures nationally and internationally.

David French, MD ACEP, FAAEM, FAEMS

Dave received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 2002 and completed residency in Emergency Medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in 2005, where he served as a Chief Resident. He completed an EMS Fellowship at Carolinas in 2006 and is board certified in Emergency Medicine and EMS. He spent seven years in academic and private practice in New York and Texas before moving to Charleston, where he spent seven years in academics before joining HCA full-time in 2020. He currently serves as the Associate Residency Director at Trident and as the Medical Director for multiple prehospital programs in the Charleston area.

Eric Brittain, MD

Eric graduated from Rush Medical College and completed EM residency at South Carolina Palmetto Health Richland. After working for a few years in private practice he joined the group at Trident. His interests include hyperbaric medicine and he serves as the senior medical director for a regional EMS corporation.

Chris Corbit, MD FACEP, FAMIA

Dr. Corbit completed EM residency at Cleveland Clinic Akron General and was Chief Resident and House Staff President. He trained in Medical Informatics at Oregon Health & Science University and is board certified in both Emergency Medicine  and Clinical Informatics. He has extensive administrative experience, serving as Medical Director and Chief Medical Informatics Officer. He is currently the Facility Medical Director for Summerville Medical Center.

Dan Fisher, DO, FACEP

Dr. Fisher completed EM training at MetroHealth/Cleveland Clinic where he served as Chief Resident. He stayed as faculty and was honored with a teaching award before moving to Charleston. He served as part time faculty at MUSC from 2015-2020. Dr. Fisher’s interests include emergency cardiac and stroke care as well as  wilderness medicine.

Eric Friedman, MD

Dr. Friedman graduated from Wake Forest School of Medicine and completed EM residency at the University of Maryland/Shock Trauma. He then completed further training  through the Sports Medicine Fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. While at Duke he served as one of the team doctors for all Duke University sports. Dr. Friedman heads the sports medicine elective rotation at Trident for residents who are sports medicine inclined. He has also lectured locally and nationally.

Christian Graf, MD

Chris graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1999 and completed residency in Emergency Medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in 2002. He has been in active practice at Trident Hospital since 2002. He is particularly interested in cardiology and orthopedic aspects of emergency medicine.

Geoffrey Gray, MD

After attending Tufts then residency at Boston Medical Center, Geoff and his wife walked Sullivan’s Island’s beaches and decided to move to Charleston. They have two young daughters and he enjoys golfing, boating with family and his chocolate lab and has been known to hatch various bird species from eggs.

Stirling Harper, MD

Dr. Harper received his medical degree from LSU Health Shreveport in 2013 and completed residency at Wake Forest Baptist Health in 2016. He was pleased to accept a position at Trident after finishing residency, and has enjoyed working here since. His main interest is hanging out with his wife Brooke, and their dog Lucy. He also enjoys teaching, running, exploring Charleston real estate, and talking music.

Scott Hayes, MD, FACEP

Dr. Hayes completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Baton Rouge where he served as Chief Resident. He continued as Emergency Medicine faculty at LSU until returning to Charleston in 2009, when he joined the ED Team at Trident. He currently serves as the Facility Medical Director for Emergency Services at Trident Medical Center as well as Chief of Staff Elect for the Health System.

Kate Hewett, MD, FAAP

Kate graduated from the University of Georgia and completed medical school at Medical College of Georgia before going on to compete MCG’s Pediatrics residency.  She then went on to complete MUSC’s Pediatric EM fellowship. She is faculty in the PED at Summerville Medical Center and her interests include asthma management, patient education and simulation. In her free time Kate enjoys gardening, fishing and boating.

Ibrahim Isa, MD

Ibrahim graduated medical school from Florida State University in 2014 and completed EM residency at MUSC in 2017. He worked four years in private practice in Orlando before coming to Trident and has always had an interest in academic medicine. Ibrahim is the Co-director of the sub-internship rotations for medical students at Trident Medical Center.

Kathryn Koval, MD, MPH

Katie completed residency at UNC Chapel Hill and global health fellowship at Stanford University. She moved to Chicago with her husband then returned to her hometown of Charleston to enjoy the marshland and reunite with her family. She is passionate about all things global health and care of the underserved.

Kat Moore, MD, FACEP

Dr. Moore received her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2010 and completed her first two years of residency at UIC and her final year at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2013. She is currently working on completing her Lifestyle Medicine Certification and has a special interest in physician wellness and political advocacy. She is a current board member of the South Carolina chapter of ACEP.

Dan Regino, DO

Dr. Regino graduated from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017 and then went on to complete his EM residency from University of Maryland/Shock Trauma in 2020. Dr. Regino’s clinical and research interests include medical education, bedside procedure teaching, and bedside ultrasound. He is the current sub-internship Co-Director and is looking forward to teaching the next generation how to provide exceptional clinical care. His interests include surfing, hiking, and hanging at the beach with his wife, son, daughter and fur family.

Graeme Ross, MD, MSc, FRCPC

Graeme received his medical degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He then completed EM residency at Kingston General Hospital, fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound at the Medical University of South Carolina, and a Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Kingston General Hospital. His interests include ultrasound, education, critical care medicine, and medical resuscitation.

Brian Schwartzberg, MD

Dr. Schwartzberg graduated from MCG and trained at MCP Hahnemann/Drexel University in Emergency Medicine, where he was both chief resident and resident of the year. He is married to a local Gynecologist and has five children. Dr. Schwartzberg's medical interests include toxicology as well as maximizing patient satisfaction.

Neal Shelley, MD

Dr. Shelley is originally from South Carolina — a Clemson graduate and alumnus of MUSC. He completed EM training at Georgetown and served as chief resident and won the Clinical Excellence Award. He is currently the facility medical director at Brighton Park Emergency Department and assistant director at Summerville Medical Center.

Susan Smith, MD

Susan graduated from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and completed Family Practice residency at MUSC. She realized she preferred EM and fortunately was able to meet the requirements for the ABEM boards. She has been working at Trident Medical Center since 1992 with interests in geriatrics and cardiology.

Darin Williams, MD

Darin, originally from Georgia, went to medical school at Tulane University followed by residency at Emory in Atlanta. He practiced a couple of years at a small community hospital before moving to Charleston in late 2020. His interests include resident education and administration. He spends his days off by the pool with his wife Kristin and their dogs, Maddox and Bongo.
