Welcome to the Swedish Medical Center Neurology Residency Program!

I’m so glad you’re taking the time to learn more about our Neurology Residency here at Swedish Medical Center in Denver. We’re proud to be part of the premier neurosciences center in the Rocky Mountain region—and one of the most exciting places in the country to train in neurology.

Swedish is the busiest and highest-acuity neuroscience hospital in the Denver metro area, with an incredibly wide range of cases and patient populations. You’ll see everything from acute stroke and neurocritical care to complex outpatient subspecialties, and you’ll be surrounded by faculty who love to teach and mentor. We’re also supported by one of the busiest telemedicine systems in the country spanning over 5 states, which gives our residents a unique perspective on treating patients from a diverse regional, cultural, and socioeconomic landscape.

Our stroke team consistently has the fastest door-to-needle times in the Denver region—and among the fastest in the nation. That kind of excellence comes from teamwork, dedication, and a shared sense of purpose. Those same qualities define our residency program.

Because we’re a relatively young program, there’s an energy and sense of possibility here that you can really feel. We’re still growing and evolving, and our residents play an important role in shaping who we are and where we’re going. Your voice and ideas matter here. We want you to help us continue to build something exceptional.

Residency is hard work—it’s demanding, fast-paced, and full of challenges—but it’s also deeply rewarding. By the time you graduate, you’ll be confident, well-rounded, and ready for anything this field can throw at you. And you won’t be doing it alone. Our faculty and administrative team are here to support you every step of the way.

If you’re looking for a program where you’ll be challenged, supported, and truly part of something growing and special, I hope you’ll consider joining us. You’ll train alongside brilliant clinicians, experience the full spectrum of neurologic disease, and live in one of the most beautiful and dynamic cities in the country.

I can’t wait to meet you and to see the impact you’ll have on our patients—and on our program.

Warmly,
Emily Lampe, MD
