Our program’s mission is to educate the next generation of internists and provide a platform for the internists to pursue their fellowships of choice if desired.

At HCA Florida Northside Hospital, we make a difference by delivering compassionate care to those we are privileged to serve. As part of HCA Healthcare, we are driven by a single mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.

Since 1998, we have committed to training Internal Medicine Residents who are passionate about delivering healthcare as it should be: patient-centered and for the good of all people, no matter their circumstance. Additionally, we are committed to retaining the physicians that we train in order to better serve our community.

The strength of our residency training is the tremendous depth and breadth of our clinical care. Our dedicated faculty supported by the significant resources of HCA Healthcare/USF Morsani College of Medicine GME provides our trainees with the basic and clinical knowledge, procedural skills, clinical judgment, professionalism, and interpersonal skills necessary for a successful career as an internist.

At HCA Florida Northside Hospital, our residency curriculum is designed to provide a broad clinical exposure in acute and chronic care occurring in the inpatient and outpatient settings. We are also committed to nurturing a robust interest in scientific investigation and evidence-based practice.

Our program is located in St. Petersburg, Florida, a city on Florida’s Gulf Coast also known as the “Sunshine City” because of our pleasant weather year-round. As part of the Tampa Bay area, the city has a vibrant downtown filled with museums, art galleries, shopping, dining, major league sporting activities, and some of the nation’s top-ranked beaches.

Serving the community since 1976, HCA Florida Northside Hospital is a 288-bed facility, offering a full range of services. Our commitment to quality cardiac healthcare has received national recognition. We are proud to offer the St. Petersburg community advanced patient-centered cardiac services which include preventative and corrective cardiac care.

Interventional stroke and neurological care, orthopedic and spine treatment, and a 24-hour emergency room are a few of our other available services. We are also proud to be the first Nationally Recognized Comprehensive Stroke Center in Pinellas County!

We invite you to explore our website and learn more about our academic and clinically rigorous training program.

We look forward to the opportunity to show you all that our Internal Medicine Residency Program has to offer.

We wish you the best of luck in this important next step in your career.

Sincerely,
