Welcome from our Program Director
HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital’s anesthesiology residency program is an accredited ACGME advanced program. We are part of the HCA Healthcare/University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Our diverse and close-knit residency program works together inside and outside of the operating room, creating a positive learning environment. We focus on patient safety, professionalism, and collaboration. Our residents are enthusiastic, highly motivated, and engaged, and our faculty cares deeply about the success of our trainees. Our residents have published research in the world’s top anesthesiology journals, presented at national anesthesia meetings, and contributed to quality improvement in our hospital system. Our recent graduates have a 100 percent Advanced Exam Board pass rate, exemplifying the quality education and training that they have received in our residency program.
Program overview
The goal of HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital's Anesthesiology Residency is to train anesthesiologists through excellence in medical education. We earned our initial accreditation in July 2024 and accept five residents per year, with 15 total residents at program maturity.
To achieve this goal, the Anesthesiology Residency provides a variety of educational experiences.
These experiences prepare the resident to provide anesthesia service to patients with a vast array of medical comorbidities encountered in the practice of medicine. This training program is structured around the clinical competencies and milestones for learning as described by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
At the culmination of training, residents will have the necessary knowledge base to successfully obtain board certification by the American Board of Anesthesiologists. In addition, trainees will have the requisite credentials needed to compete for and obtain subspecialty training.
