Program Director
Nicholas Dorsey, MD, serves as the Program Director for HCA FLorida - Ocala Hospital's Family Medicine Residency. After graduating from UCF he attended St. Georges University College of Medicine and later completed his residency at the University of Florida. He continues to serve as a reservist US Navy.
Elvira Mercado, MD,
Associate Program Director
Dr. Elvira Mercado received her medical degree and completed her residency in Family Medicine from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, FL. She is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who enjoys seeing patients of all ages with a passion for underserved medicine, pediatrics, women’s health. Her areas of interest include clinical operations, medical education and quality improvement. She is looking forward to teaching Family Medicine residents at Heart of Florida Central. In her spare time, she enjoys going to Gator football games and spending time with her two children and husband.
