Thank you for your interest in the University of Central Florida College of Medicine/HCA Healthcare Graduate Medical Education Consortium's Transitional Year residency program.
The program became accredited by the ACGME in December 2016 and welcomed its inaugural class in July 2017.
Our program's educational goals are to teach outstanding patient care, model professionalism at all times, and create habits of continuous intellectual growth. We achieve these goals through the provision of physician exposure to a wide range of patients, clinical conditions, and practice settings.
Our patient care curriculum is grounded in well-rounded clinical experience and all transitional year residents are encouraged to enhance their knowledge base and clinical skills by rotating through a variety of disciplines. Additionally, resident well-being is an essential aspect of the curriculum to ensure a healthy and balanced educational experience. It is through this exposure to a variety of patient presentations, clinical teaching and wellness focus that our transitional year residents are able to move ahead in their training, capable of better care for a myriad of patients or problems that they may encounter in their future specialties.
Comments from our graduates include:
