It is my pleasure to introduce you to the HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program. The program's mission is to provide high quality training with an emphasis on clinical excellence, teamwork, leadership, and career development.
Our program is sponsored by St. Lucie Hospital, a 229-bed acute care hospital located in Port St. Lucie, which is the 7th largest city in Florida and a part of the Treasure Coast. This costal location boasts pristine beaches, world class boating and fishing, low cost of living, and easy access to both Miami and Orlando.
The Family Medicine Practice, HCA Florida St. Lucie's Medical Specialists Residency Clinic, is located directly across the street from St. Lucie Hospital. Our clinic is a full spectrum Family Medicine Clinic with dedicated Pediatric, Family Medicine, and Behavioral Health staff. We offer walk-in appointments, same day testing (POC, microscopy, EKG, POCUS, Spirometry) and have dedicated general and Women's Health procedure clinics. This practice is also the site of our faculty and staff offices, making this space the home of our residency program.
We have weekly didactics which consists of both faculty and resident led lectures, case reports, Morbidity/Mortality, board review, journal club, research/QI, practice management, and hands on simulation. We also have monthly clinical administrative meetings to help our trainees understand the business side of medicine. Additionally, our program hosts medical students, giving residents opportunities to teach and mentor in both the hospital and clinic settings.
As a primarily unopposed program, you will have the opportunity to work one on one with many subspecialty attendings which enhances your education. Our residency program will expose you to a broad range of pathology to prepare you for careers in hospital medicine, primary care, or fellowship training.
We look forward to meeting you.
