About our program
The UCF/HCA Healthcare Transitional Year Program at HCA Florida West Hospital is designed to give residents a well-rounded education in fundamental clinical skills to prepare them for their chosen specialty, research, or medical administration. Residents will learn how to promote preventive healthcare services and advocate for healthcare equality for all community members. The program director and faculty members will guide and mentor residents not accepted into a categorical or advanced residency training program or who have not decided on a specific career path. The clinical training and curriculum for the transitional year residents, for those who have decided and have yet to decide, will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in their future endeavors.
Curriculum highlights
Our curriculum is designed to complement resident's rotations. Residents will have protected educational time to attend weekly didactic conferences.
