The Transitional Year program curriculum consists of 12 blocks with one block lasting one month each:
- Internal Medicine (Inpatient) - 3 blocks
- Internal Medicine (Outpatient) - 1 block
- Intensive Care - 1 block
- Emergency Medicine - 1 block
- General Surgery/OBGYN - 1 block*
- Elective - 5 blocks**
*Residents may choose general surgery or OBGYN for this rotation. They may also choose a combination of the two (two weeks of surgery and 2 weeks of OBGYN).
**Electives include addiction medicine, anesthesia, dermatology, infectious disease/wound care, pain medicine, palliative care, pathology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, psychiatry, radiology, radiation oncology, sports medicine, orthopedics, urology, research, and any other rotation agreed upon by the program director.
