Our accredited, three-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery Residency Program at HCA Florida Westside Hospital exposes residents to all aspects of foot and ankle surgery with a volume of cases unmatched throughout South Florida.
Program overview
The HCA Florida Westside Hospital Podiatry Residency with Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery is a three-year, high-volume program with an emphasis on surgery (joint replacement, external fixation, arthroscopy, trauma, ankle, hindfoot and forefoot reconstruction), research and wound care.
Residents are responsible for taking all emergency room calls for pathology below the tibial tuberosity at HCA Florida Westside Hospital. Residents perform 1000+ surgical cases and 2,000+ surgical procedures along with 1500+ office encounters.
There are numerous weekly academics, sawbones workshops and cadaver labs. The program accepts three residents per year and is best suited for highly motivated, hard-working, independent physicians.
