Lawrence Gibbs, MD, MSEd — Program director
Dr. Gibbs is responsible for all clinical and educational activities within the residency program. He has been involved in graduate medical education as adjunct faculty, clinical faculty, and core faculty in family medicine locations in Texas and before that for the Air Force. He was an educator before becoming a physician having received his Master’s in Education prior to medical school. This puts the program in very able and caring hands from an educational standpoint. It is also an insight into what he is as a person. His default setting is a desire to facilitate the growth and well-being of the residents. The outcome of a competent, compassionate physician is the goal but the process to get there is Dr. Gibbs’ biggest strength. He is a devoted husband and father and possesses an impressive collection of Funko Pop figures proudly displayed in his office.
Karen Foote, MD — Associate program director and faculty

Dr. Karen Foote is the Associate Program Director. She comes to the program with a strong background in graduate medical education. Her passion is obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Foote is a full-scope family doctor, delivering babies, taking care of the mothers and the child well after the delivery room. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the clinic and to the residents she facilitates from a varied background. She also brings a sense of humor and encyclopedic knowledge of anime and all things Comic-Con.
