Welcome to the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at Memorial Health University Medical Center (MHUMC). Our program offers a comprehensive learning environment blending the best of academic radiology with the practical experience of private practice.

MHUMC is the only Level I Trauma Center in Southeast Georgia. Our Children's Hospital and Anderson Cancer Institute serve as tertiary referral centers for patients throughout the southeast. MHUMC is fortunate to have some of the most skilled physicians in the country. Interaction with such specialists is fostered through multi-disciplinary conferences with surgery, pulmonology, internal medicine, pediatrics, and others. This valuable interaction provides critical skills that have become vital in diagnostic radiology.

The Department of Radiology is committed to clinical training, didactic education and research. We have a diverse yet collegial group of residents from throughout the United States. Upon completion of training, residents are routinely accepted to the fellowship of their choice at some of the most prestigious institutions throughout the country.

MHUMC is a major academic center serving as the Savannah campus for Mercer University School of Medicine. Medical students and residents from every major specialty train throughout the hospital.

MHUMC is located in Savannah, Georgia, known as "The Hostess City of the South." Savannah is home to multiple major universities and has a growing performing arts scene, offering cultural events throughout the year. Being a coastal city, Savannah has access to the beach and multiple surrounding barrier islands for both recreational and residential use.

Thank you for considering the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at MHUMC.

Sincerely,

Dhruv Patel, MD
