    The Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) at Methodist Healthcare System of San Antonio (MHS SA - ACGME #489545) provides central administrative services to support all training program stakeholders to include residents, faculty, and administrative staff. In collaboration with the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC), our office is responsible for maintaining accreditation for current and future GME training programs by complying with all institutional and program requirements set forth by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Additionally, we strive to foster and support a high-quality learning and working environment that emphasizes excellence in safety and quality of care rendered to patients by residents, excellence in professionalism as modeled by physician faculty in all our programs, and a commitment to the well-being of residents, faculty, administrative staff, and all others that participate in GME.

    The GME residency programs at MHS SA provide exceptional learning opportunities in multiple clinical learning environments within San Antonio, TX. All training occurs with the mission of ‘Serving Humanity to Honor God by providing exceptional and cost-effective health care accessible to all’ as a foundation. Residents trained within our programs have access to a diverse patient population, expert faculty physicians, distinct clinical experiences, technologically advanced simulation resources, evidenced-based didactics, and one-on-one mentorship, resulting in the development of exceptional, compassionate, and competent physicians who will make a lasting impact within the community we serve.
