Program Overview
The Southern Hills Hospital & Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program is an ACGME-accredited 8-8-8 program established in 2017 with a mission to train compassionate, competent and community-minded family physicians. Based in vibrant Las Vegas, Nevada, we are deeply committed to addressing the healthcare needs of our diverse and growing community.
Our program offers a dynamic and supportive learning environment where residents receive comprehensive training across all areas of family medicine. With a class size of eight residents per year, we provide a close-knit atmosphere that fosters strong mentorship, individualized learning, and a team-based approach to patient care.
Our continuity clinic is based at Nevada Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides high-quality care to underserved populations across the state. This partnership allows residents to develop strong, longitudinal relationships with patients while gaining valuable experience in community health and advocacy.
Wellness and community outreach are cornerstones of our program culture. We believe that physician well-being is essential to excellent patient care, and we actively promote work-life balance through dedicated wellness initiatives and a supportive learning environment. Equally important is our commitment to giving back – our residents regularly participate in community outreach events and local partnerships that promote health equity throughout Las Vegas.
We are proud of our program growth since its inception and remain passionate about developing future leaders in primary care who are equipped to make a lasting impact – both locally and beyond.
