Welcome from our Program Director

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Training Program at Trident Medical Center is part of HCA Healthcare's GME network. As a leading healthcare provider, HCA is committed to offering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Our 3-year ACGME-accredited program is located in Charleston, South Carolina, a vibrant city with stunning beaches and a mild climate. Trident Medical Center also partners with Summerville Medical Center Transitional Year Program, offering you the ability to complete your initial training all in one city.

We offer 6 advanced PM&R positions and a local transitional year program. Our experienced faculty is dedicated to providing residents with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in PM&R.

We offer a variety of educational opportunities, including clinical rotations, research projects, and mentorship programs.

About our program

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) primary locations are at Trident Medical Center and Colleton Medical Center.

Trident Medical Center is a 302-bed major medical center providing a comprehensive range of services and specialties, including a 24-hour emergency room (ER) and a Level II Trauma Center. Trident Medical Center offers critical care services and 24/7 access to hospitalists and intensivists. Colleton Medical Center, 40 miles from the main campus of Trident Medical Center, has 135 beds, offering both inpatient and outpatient medical services, as well as 24/7 Emergency Care for adults and children.

PM&R residents will rotate with the inpatient acute rehabilitation service, outpatient PM&R clinic, and electrodiagnosis clinic at Trident Medical Center and Colleton Medical Center.
