Mission Statement

The Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program’s mission is to develop the next generation of physicians and physician leaders. As a part of HCA Healthcare, we are driven by a single mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.

This program is designed to offer residents a rewarding, educational environment where residents are provided individualized learning opportunities by faculty and staff who support and sustain one another throughout quality care delivery. Our faculty are committed to ensuring the residents' clinical experience and educational needs are fulfilled while expanding residents’ perspectives to be inclusive of cultures, values, and ideals.

Program Overview

At Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) our focus is to train well-rounded Family Physicians equipped to handle diverse pathology across all ages and to train the next generation of physician leaders.

To highlight a few of our unique training opportunities as a Family Medicine resident, you'll benefit from our busy inpatient hospital medicine service and Level I Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Due to our access to subspecialty services, expect regular experience treating and managing advanced disease not always manageable in a community hospital. Frequent examples include managing STEMI alongside our Cardiologists with our Cardiac Catheterization Lab capabilities. Our Primary Stroke Center Status allows for our Neuro-hospitalist service and our access to in-house Interventional Radiologist provides complete stroke care. You'll find our Surgery and Trauma rotation invaluable as you diagnose and manage acutely ill surgical patients and benefit from our Burn and Reconstructive Center. Our in-house Pediatrics training includes opportunities to treat significant pediatric disease across our inpatient pediatric service, Pediatric ICU and Level III Neonatal ICU.

Our hands-on approach fosters excellent opportunities for professional growth, committed mentorship and research. Alongside dedicated attending physicians and enthusiastic colleagues, residents strive for excellence in their training and provide high-quality healthcare in patient-centered environments and community-oriented service.
