Welcome from our program director
We are delighted that you are interested in the Grand Strand Family Medicine Residency, located in one of the South’s great travel destinations. The sandy beaches, mild climate and endless area attractions, as well as state-of-the-art medical facilities and welcoming medical community, make Myrtle Beach an attractive place to learn as well as play. We are affiliated with Grand Strand Medical Center, a 403-bed acute care hospital that is recognized for quality medical training and is home to a robust inpatient experience as well as opportunities to learn from an array of collegial specialists. The hospital features one of the busiest Level I Trauma Centers in the state of South Carolina with critical care units for medical, cardiac, neurology, surgical and pediatric patients as well as a large obstetrics unit and Level II newborn nursery, and we have a fully-accredited simulation lab that will enhance your training. We are unique in incorporating medical humanities and other innovative approaches throughout the training to ensure that our graduates are not just clinically skilled but also able to provide compassionate care across the lifespan. We are committed to building our program’s reputation as a leader in the nation, and we hope that you consider being a part of this enthusiastic and supportive team of residents. We look forward to meeting you!
