The Infectious Disease Fellowship educational experience includes inpatient care, outpatient care, microbiology laboratory rotation, conferences, didactic sessions and research. The overall goal of the two-year program is to provide an environment in which the trainee can acquire competency as a specialist in the field of Infectious Diseases.
Being in South Florida, our patients and families come from an ethnically, culturally and socioeconomically diverse population. Over the course of the two-year period, fellows will learn how to evaluate, diagnose and manage infections, how to function as effective members of a multidisciplinary team, and, eventually, how to lead this team during their last year of training.
