Curriculum Schedule & Rotations

Balance focused learning: 1 month traditional inpatient medicine or ICU alternating with 1 month subspecialty or ambulatory based rotations. We encourage our residents to take time on both more rigorous and less rigorous rotations to re-energize; however understand this can be more easily accomplished on subspecialty or ambulatory rotations.

PGY2 & PGY3 Lottery: residents take part in a schedule lottery where they choose their schedule layout for the upcoming year. We continue to stress alternating more demanding inpatient teaching service months with ambulatory and subspecialty months. We allow the resident to have autonomy over their schedules to assist in work - life balance based on their individualized needs.

  • Research Committee
  • Education Committee
  • Resident Well Being

Yearly Fall Resident Retreat is an opportunity for all residents to get away from the hustle and bustle of rotations and spend some time on reflection and getting to know their colleagues. We also encourage opportunities at the hospitals for well being breaks with a workout room and recharge room. We facilitate peer to peer feedback and a positive work environment with monthly awards for residents that stand out in the areas of professionalism, leadership, compassion and patient care. Our resident lead well being committee arranges a variety of team bonding activities throughout the year. We have a daily check-in with the program for real time feedback and communication.
