The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Methodist Healthcare System of San Antonio is an ACGME accredited, four-year postgraduate training program.
We will welcome our first class of residents July 1, 2026. Our sponsoring institution is Methodist Healthcare System of San Antonio, who has a long and distinguished history of serving the medically underserved of the greater San Antonio community and South Texas through Methodist Healthcare Ministries and HCA Healthcare.
The mission of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is to educate and train outstanding obstetricians and gynecologists committed to the care and improvement of women's health. Foundational to the program are the core values of our institution: integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and service to the community and humanity.
Offering the most all-inclusive care within Women's Services, Methodist Hospital provides a modern birthing experience while able to care for the most complex and critically-ill mothers and babies with over 5,000 deliveries per year. Methodist Hospital also performs extensive gynecological surgery using minimally invasive surgical techniques and robot-assisted surgeries. To achieve our goal of an exceptional training program, we offer significant exposure in subspecialties of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology, Gynecologic Oncology, Female Pelvic Medicine with Reconstruction, and Minimally Invasive Gynecology. In addition to clinical training, our program is dedicated to making advancements in the field of medicine through research and scholarly activity.
We are located in the Medical Center in San Antonio, near the Texas Hill Country. San Antonio offers a vibrant mix of history, cultural diversity, and modern amenities that make it appealing to newcomers. Known for attractions like the Alamo, the River Walk, Spanish colonial missions, and home to the San Antonio Spurs. The city blends historic charm with a growing economy, family-friendly neighborhoods, and abundant parks and outdoor activities for all stages of life.
