John Ryan, MDThank you for your interest in the Sunrise GME Consortium Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. This is an ACGME-accredited 3-year program based at Southern Hills Hospital and MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas and is in partnership with Comprehensive Digestive Institute of Nevada. We typically accept 3 new fellows per year.

The program is community based with the opportunity for extensive systems-based learning. Our faculty is comprised of graduates and previous faculty from some of the premier universities in the country. Many have advanced training in areas such as hepatology, therapeutic endoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease. Our faculty members are actively involved in clinical research.

The city of Las Vegas is located in one of the fastest growing regions, and one of the most underserved states in the country. This background provides the setting for extensive experience in patient care. The facilities at which the fellows rotate add to this experience by providing a diverse patient population ranging from those with common GI ailments to those who need advanced multidisciplinary care.

The mission of the program is to steadily improve the quality of care for patients with complex digestive disorders within the region. Our goal is to train physicians who are not only capable of providing this care, but who are able to bring a depth of interest in the specialty that contributes towards advancing the program's mission.
