Mission Statement
The mission of the HCA HealthONE Anesthesiology Residency Program is to develop expert clinicians within our field. We believe these future anesthesiologists will provide world-class care within the field of anesthesia and perioperative medicine. These leaders will better the field of anesthesia with their compassionate, well-rounded, and evidenced based approach to patient care. High-quality anesthesiology training will allow our graduates to subspecialize or enter practice immediately, benefitting the communities they serve, and demonstrating their commitment to the care and improvement of human life.
This program is designed to offer residents a rewarding, educational environment where residents are provided individualized learning opportunities by faculty and staff who support and sustain one another throughout quality care delivery. Our faculty are committed to ensuring the residents' clinical experience and educational needs are fulfilled while expanding residents' perspectives to be inclusive of cultures, values, and ideals.

Welcome to the HCA HealthONE Anesthesiology residency program! We appreciate your interest in our anesthesia residency program at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. We are a community-based Level I Trauma Center, which provides exceptional care for a full spectrum of services using specialized resources and expertise.
About Our Program
The HCA HealthONE Anesthesiology Residency Program is an accredited four-year program based out of Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. Swedish Medical Center (SMC) is a 408 bed, community-based, level I Trauma Center which has been serving the community for more than 110 years.
SMC serves as the region's neurotrauma and orthopedic trauma provider with a dedicated burn and reconstructive center, as well as the Rocky Mountain Region's referral center for the most advanced stroke treatment. The hospital consistently receives 'A' grade ratings from the Leapfrog Group and Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Awards.

An annual on-call meal stipend of $950 is included in the salaries shown. The stipend is distributed in July for $475 and in January for $475.
In addition, new residents receive up to $1,000 for orientation (if it takes place before the official employment date).

The HCA HealthONE Anesthesiology Residency Program is a four-year program (PGY1, CA1, CA2, CA3). The following is a breakdown of the program by year.
PGY-1
The PGY-1 year is a clinical base year, rotations occur at Swedish Medical Center, Sky Ridge Medical Center, and Presbyterian St. Luke's.

No, ECFMG is the sole sponsor of visas for physicians in clinical training programs. /p>
International medical school graduates must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) at the time of application.
Applicants must be recent (2 years or less) graduates from medical school to be considered competitive.
The HealthONE anesthesiology residency program is unique due to its faculty association with US Anesthesia Partners (USAP), the highest quality, single-specialty, anesthesia practice in the country. USAP is owned and clinically governed by practicing physicians, some of which are the world's foremost experts in anesthesia.
