Residents will have one month of electives each PGY year. The residents can set up an alternative elective rotation with the program director's approval.

Conference

Residents have protected time to attend weekly conferences.

GME research and scholarship resources include:

  • HCA Electronic Library – over 8,450 e-journals, over 2,190 e-textbooks, and a librarian team
  • HCA Healthcare Journal of Medicine – peer-reviewed PubMed indexed scientific periodical
  • Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) – database with 186 hospitals' data
  • Biostatisticians and Data Analysts – who will assist you with research and analysis
  • Analytical Tools – SPSS, SAS and R
  • Research Director – dedicated assistance to research projects, lectures and workshops
  • Medical Writer – assistance with manuscripts, articles, and IRB project reviews
  • Institutional Review Board (IRB) – for GME research oversight
  • Resident Travel Budget – support to present and publish scholarly activity
