Please note that all PGY levels have rotations in these core areas at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital:

  • General surgery
  • Acute care surgery (including endocrine)
  • Surgical specialties (including surgical oncology, thoracic surgery, pediatric surgery)

Yearly rotations

  • PGY1: Plastic surgery (HCA Florida Brandon Hospital)
  • PGY2: Trauma/critical care/burns (HCA Florida Blake Hospital)
  • PGY3
    • Trauma/critical care/burns (HCA Florida Blake Hospital)
    • Transplant/hepatobiliary (HCA Florida Largo Hospital)
  • PGY4
    • Advanced pediatric surgery (Johns Hopkins)
    • Advanced surgical oncology elective (HCA Florida Brandon Hospital)
  • PGY5
    • General surgery, chief (HCA Florida Brandon Hospital)
    • Acute care surgery, chief (HCA Florida Brandon Hospital)
    • Surgical specialties, chief (HCA Florida Brandon Hospital)

PGY4 and PGY5 years have not yet begun at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital. These are planned rotations/projected rotations.
