Program Curriculum

Our expertly crafted program is designed to provide resident physicians with a breadth and depth of all orthopedic specialties and training necessary for professional success. The orthopedic surgery rotations are based on a mentorship model where the residents work 1-on-1 with faculty in clinic, operating rooms, and rounding on admitted patients.

The Intern General Orthopedic Surgery rotation has a team-based model where interns take call, which consists of seeing consults, operating on those who need surgery, and rounding on admitted patients. Our intern call is a unique opportunity to begin building fundamental patient management and surgical skills early. On orthopedic surgery specialty rotations, residents work with faculty and advanced practice providers assisting in the operating room, working in clinic, and rounding on admitted patients.

Most resident rotations are in Palm Beach County including HCA Florida JFK Hospital, HCA Florida JFK North Hospital, and HCA Florida Palms West Hospital as well as various ambulatory surgery centers. Trauma and oncology rotations will be completed at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital (formerly Kendall Regional Medical Center) in Miami, a busy Level 1 Trauma Center. A housing stipend is provided so residents do not have to commute. Research and Elective rotations are built into the schedule, so residents have these opportunities to tailor their training and ensure academic productivity. Residents are on-call from home.
