We are delighted to welcome you to our Transitional Year Residency Program at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, located in the heart of the vibrant Treasure Coast region of South Florida.

Situated in the beautiful coastal town of Fort Pierce, our hospital is a 500-bed regional tertiary care center that provides exceptional care to the surrounding areas. Lawnwood Hospital is a Certified Stroke Center, Trauma Center, Advanced Heart Center, Pediatric Emergency Care Center with a level III NICU, and a Certified Rehabilitation Center.
By joining our Transitional Year Residency Program, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative environment that values academic and administrative excellence. You will be integrated and work alongside residents from our established Internal Medicine and General Surgery programs.

Our robust didactic curriculum is designed to provide you with a well-rounded education, spanning inpatient and outpatient settings. You can look forward to a diverse array of conferences, small group learning sessions, interactive activities, and simulation-based training that cover the full spectrum of medical specialties. Additionally, you will receive dedicated mentorship from our faculty, who are committed to helping you develop your clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, and professional growth. We will work with you to develop an individualized PGY-1 Transitional Year based upon your needs and desires.
