John Stadnyk, MD

Program Director

Dr. Stadnyk graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1991 and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at The George Washington University in 2003 prior to moving to Roanoke, Virginia.  He joined the clinical staff at HCA Lewis Gale Medical Center in 2007 and became part of the initial Core Faculty of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program in 2019.  In July 2021 he was promoted to Program Director and has served in that capacity since.  In his rare free moments, he enjoys endurance athletics and helps coach his children’s’ Cross Country team, while serving as a de facto taxi driver for his two sets of twins.


Jeremy Webb, MD

Associate Program Director, Core Faculty

Dr. Webb has been practicing emergency medicine since 2013. He attended Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed residency training at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC. Specialty interests include acute resuscitation, critical care, airway management, point of care ultrasound, education, and the history of medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hanging out with his wife and two children, strumming guitar, playing disc golf, and going to see live music.

Michael Jones, PharmD

Mike earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Campbell University in 1996. He has 20 years’ experience as a clinical pharmacist. He has spent the last 12 years as a clinical pharmacist in critical care and emergency medicine. He is also an EMT and is active with EMS. In his spare time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family and working on his farm.


Chad Mosby, MD

Dr. Mosby hails from North Carolina, where he attended UNC-Chapel Hill for undergrad and med school. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Carilion Clinic, and subsequently starting at LewisGale in 2019. Clinically, he’s interested in the treatment of orthopedic injuries, application of Simulation to EM, ultrasound guided procedures and airway management. He loves living in Roanoke with his wife and 3 kids, and you can frequently find them out taking advantage of the city’s excellent greenways/greenspaces on foot or bike, or exploring the mountains around the valley.


Theresa Forty, DO

Dr. Forty attended West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, VA, and later completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital in 2018. She has been with HCA and a member of our GME program since 2018.


Puneet Chopra, MD, FACEP

Dr. Chopra attended George Washington University School of Medicine, and later completed his Emergency Residency program in 2007 at GWU in Washington DC. Dr. Chopra has been with Lewisgale Medical Center since 2021 and enjoys his family, traveling, and spending his time outdoors. Their favorite thing about Salem is the balance of the city, it’s a great place to be outdoors.


Zachary Williams, MD

Dr. Williams has been practicing emergency medicine since 2018. He attended the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and completed residency training at Virginia Tech-Carilion Clinic before beginning to work at LewisGale following graduation. His main clinical teaching interests include process improvement, department logistics, provider workflow, documentation, business aspects of medicine and all things procedures. Outside of work he enjoys just about anything involving the outdoors, especially hunting, and spending time with his wife, 2 toddlers, and 2 dogs.

James Newton, MD

Dr. Newton has been practicining emergency medicine since 2018. After finishing residency in Florida he was able to move home to Virginia. In the department he enjoys rural medicine, working with residents and procedures. Outside of the emergency department Dr. Newton enjoys spending time with his family and dogs. Some of his interest include home improvement, wood working, classic cars, and most things outdoors.
