Dr. Aston practices with a distinctively osteopathic approach to patient care and interest in how a patient’s environment influences their health and wholeness. Because of his brief stint in the USAF, he has a special interest in veteran health, as well. Following residency in Searcy, Arkansas, Dr. Aston spent a year training in neuromusculoskeletal medicine at the UNT Health Science Center. Serendipity then brought him into the world of Performing Arts Medicine, and under the tutelage of Drs. Sajid Surve, DO, FAOCPMR and Yein Lee, DO, MSS, FAAPMR, he became the world’s first fellowship-trained performing arts medicine physician.

As core faculty in the MCFW Family Medicine residency program, Dr. Crompton teaches lifestyle curriculum which includes exercise prescription, cardiovascular disease and diabetes reversal, mindfulness-based stress reduction, sleep disorders, physician health, nutrition, weight management and emotional/mental wellbeing. She also offers an elective lifestyle medicine rotation for interested residents. As director of Rural Education at TCOM, Dr. Crompton leads the annual Big Bend Border Wellness trip, during which medical students, faculty and residents provide free clinics offering health screenings, physical exams, OMT and personalized behavioral counseling in one of the most underserved areas of Texas.

Dr. Galke is passionate about the concept that the root of excellent healthcare is the relationship fostered between the patient and their physician. This relationship is best cultivated in the primary care setting with the patient at the center of all healthcare decisions. Integral to wellness is access to behavioral healthcare in the primary care office. Dr. Galke believes that the greatest contribution to the health of the nation comes from developing a robust and demanding curriculum to train future family physicians.

Dr. Hansen has several areas of interest that include: neuromusculoskeletal conditions, injuries, exercise prescription, sports medicine, adolescents, and a functional approach to treatment modalities. Currently she sees patients and is involved with the medical education of students and residents. Dr. Hansen utilizes osteopathic manipulative treatment, injections, cell-based therapies, ultrasound for the detection and intervention of appropriate issue, and integrates functional activities/education into the management of her patients.

Dr. Schranz serves as the director of both the two-month family medicine clerkship and the longitudinal preceptorship programs for his department. He is the co-course director for clinical medicine for 1st-year students. In addition to educational responsibilities, he is in active practice as a family physician at the UNTHSC family medicine clinic where he also serves as preceptor for the Family Medicine Residency program.
