Kavitha Arabindoo, MD, FAAFP, MPHWe are excited you are interested in our residency program and look forward to sharing more. Our strengths include a dynamic and diverse faculty, cognitively challenging patient population with multiple comorbidities, supportive sponsoring institution, experienced clinic personnel, and 40 years of training family physicians. We believe in training primary care physicians to provide competent and comprehensive services, and to work as part of the larger health care team.

Research Family Medicine Residency Program in the heart of Kansas City is a community hospital-based training program. Research Medical Center is a 590-bed tertiary care hospital in the urban core. As the only primary care residency (the other being orthopedics), our residents have access to excellent teaching provided by all specialist, as well as family physicians who practice and teach the full scope of family medicine. Hospital consultants are readily available.

Goppert-Trinity Family Care, our clinical practice, provides over 25,000 patient visits per year, and serves a diverse and underserved patient population. We offer comprehensive family medicine services to our community – newborn, pediatric, adult geriatric care, women's health services and office procedures. You can expect to develop a continuity practice during residency providing the breadth of family medicine.

Our residency prides itself on offering an excellent academic curriculum. In addition to a strong core curriculum based on rotational sites, we also offer optional tracks in osteopathic manipulative medicine, OB, and integrative medicine. A POCUS curriculum is in the works. Inpatient medicine, inpatient OB, and newborn rotations include longitudinal curricula, during which, time is reserved daily to discuss core topics, guaranteeing exposure to key educational content regardless of patient availability.

We look forward to learning more about you. Congratulations on your interest in family medicine – we are excited to share our passion with you!
