Welcome to the HCA Healthcare/TriStar Neurology Residency in Nashville, Tennessee! As program director, I encourage you to explore the opportunities for training and professional development we have built for you here in Music City.

HCA Healthcare is one of the largest hospital systems and providers of Graduate Medical Education (GME) in the United States, with headquarters in Nashville. TriStar Neurology will expose you to cutting-edge, evidence-based, patient-centered care across the spectrum of neurologic disease, serving the local area and surrounding states. Every resident completing the program will leave as a highly competent clinician, suitable for work in HCA facilities or other premier institutions.

As a resident with us, you will be mentored by faculty who themselves have trained or taught in many of the best programs in the country and have contributed substantially to scholarly writing, research, and teaching in the neurological sciences. All are actively practicing clinicians, some with university affiliations. But unlike many traditional programs, TriStar GME is a hospital-based academic consortium whose faculty is undistracted by the competing demands of a university tenure system. We prioritize you and your learning experience.

You will see patients primarily in two urban hospitals and their attached outpatient clinics, with additional experience in two smaller community hospitals. Residents will be engaged in complex inpatient stroke and neurocritical care from the first day, as well as outpatient continuity clinics, with mastery of chronic neurologic disease through subspecialty rotations. All residents participate in scholarly research and teaching, with opportunities to publish or present your work in peer-reviewed journals or national meetings. Elective time is tailored to your needs and interests.

We care about the personal lives of every resident – your goals, challenges, health, families, finances, and future. Come, be a part of something new and exciting at TriStar in Nashville!
