Program Curriculum

  • Fellows complete a 36-month training program.
  • Working hours are generally 7am - 7pm with rotating on-call schedules.
  • Fellows receive 20 days of paid time off, which is used for vacation, personal needs, sick time and holidays.
  • An additional five (5) days of optional CME is available with the program director’s approval.

The core curriculum is based on the recommendations of the American College of Cardiology Core Cardiology Training Statement (COCATS). The program is designed to provide educational and experiential input from a broad range of specialty providers at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital as well as affiliate institutions.

The program provides extensive participation in clinical cardiac patient care services. Fellows will be exposed to a variety of cardiac clinical settings including:

  • Diagnostic and interventional catheterization including Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Electrophysiology
  • Pacemaker / ICF/Atrial Flutter and Atrial Fib Ablations/ Arrhythmia management
  • Tilt table procedures
  • Cardiac Stress Testing
  • Coronary Artery Bypass and cardiac valve surgery
  • TAVR
  • Watchman procedure
