Damon DeLeon, MD
Program Director
Originally from Tennessee, Dr. DeLeon obtained his Medical Degree from The University of Tennessee and then completed adult psychiatry training at the Department of Psychiatry at UVA Medical Center. He then completed a Child and Adolescent Fellowship at Brown University, joining HCA in 2016. He has served many roles within the residency program but mostly enjoys direct mentorship and teaching, and is so excited to serve in the role of training director.

Chris G. Rogers, MD
Associate Program Director
Dr. Rogers is the medical director of child and adolescent services at The Medical Center of Aurora. He is the current president of the Colorado Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Society and sits on the Advocacy Committee for the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr. Rogers attended medical school as well as adult psychiatry residency and child and adolescent fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. His passions are teaching, psychotherapy and advocating for the needs of the families he serves. He is active in following the available research around cannabis use and recently helped update the AACAP Facts for Families on adolescents and marijuana.
Dr. Rogers enjoys the challenges presented by helping to build a new psychiatry residency program and the opportunities to learn from resident physicians. When he is not working too much he is typically playing too hard either climbing up a cliff or biking down a mountain. He has 3 wonderful kids who often remind him how it’s hard to have a dad who always wants to have a “big talk.”
Daniel Grine, MD
Dr. Grine is our newest faculty member and was hand-picked from our residency program after completion of his chief year. He is an adult psychiatrist but with additional interest in child and adolescent psychiatry and will work with both PGY 1 residents during their adult inpatient rotations and PGY2 residents during their child and adolescent rotations. He is current co-chair of the program evaluation committee (PEC).
McKay Knowles, DO
Dr. Knowles is predominantly as adult acute inpatient faculty member, working with interns on core psychiatric knowledge. He has additional experience in ECT. He attended medical school at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine - Colorado. He then completed psychiatry residency as a member of the inaugural residency class, serving as chief resident. He is now a trusted colleague and serves as faculty chair on the Clinical Competency Committee.
Gilberto Miranda, DO
Dr. Miranda is an adult psychiatrist with particular interest in the geriatric population. He predominantly works with PGY2 residents during their geriatric rotation. His additional interests include emergency and jail psychiatry. Dr. Miranda completed medical school at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine and is also a member of our inaugural residency class. He is an extremely hard worker and is currently co-chair of the program evaluation committee (PEC).
Alfredo Rivera, MD
Dr. Alfredo N. Rivera obtained his undergraduate degree at Syracuse University and his Medical Degree at U.S.T. He completed his psychiatry residency and fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati. After 20 years of private practice and clinical research trials, he relocated to HCA HealthONE in 2015. Since then he has served as the inaugural program director, medical director of geriatric psychiatry and the department chair.
Zachary Robinson, MD
Dr. Robinson is a board-certified child and adolescent and adult psychiatrist. He completed medical school, residency and fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He has significant research, quality, and safety experience and is currently faculty chair of our Education Committee. Dr. Robinson works predominantly with PGY 2 residents during their child & adolescent rotations.

Erin Smith, MD
Dr. Smith is as associate program director and adult psychiatrist. She is the site director and a primary supervising attending at Aurora Mental Health, a community mental health agency and training partner during the PGY 3 year. She attended medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and residency at the University of Arkansas. She has significant experience with the SMI (severe mental illness) population, associated psychopharmacology, and ECT.
