Welcome from our Neurology Program Director

Welcome and thank you for your interest in our Neurology program. We are a brand-new program, with our first class slated to start in July of 2022. We will have 3 categorical spots per year. Our program is a part of the HCA GME family, which is the largest GME provider in the United States.

Our mission at Los Robles, is to give high quality training to the next generation of physicians. We aim to create a balance between training, practicing evidence-based medicine, promoting research and ensuring resident wellness. Our focus will be to integrate our residents into our wonderful community, so we may provide excellent care to the people of Thousand Oaks and Ventura County.

Mission Statement

The Los Robles Regional Medical Center Neurology Residency Program’s mission is to develop the next generation of physicians and physician leaders. As a part of HCA Healthcare, we are driven by a single mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.

This program is designed to offer residents a rewarding, educational environment where residents are provided individualized learning opportunities by faculty and staff who support and sustain one another throughout quality care delivery. Our faculty are committed to ensuring the residents' clinical experience and educational needs are fulfilled while expanding residents’ perspectives to be inclusive of cultures, values, and ideals.

Program Overview

We are delighted to announce that interviews for 3 PGY-1 positions begin Fall 2021. Qualified applications from allopathic and osteopathic candidates will be considered through ERAS (Electronic Residency Applications Service). Rotations will take place at Los Robles Health System’s main campus, where residents will have the opportunity to interact with experienced academic faculty.

The Neurology Residency program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for 3 categorical positions.

FAQs

Yes, Los Robles Health System’s Graduate Medical Education residency programs are fully accredited by the ACGME.
Yes, 220 USMLE and 500 for COMLEX are preferred. However, the Program Director will review all applications and evaluate the applicants’ overall skills and professional achievements; a decision to invite a candidate for an interview is based on several factors, not only USMLE scores.
Yes, all residents are required to conduct scholarly activity; research, QI or a case report is required for graduation. We have a dedicated Research Director whose role is to help develop research projects that align with each resident's particular area of interest. In addition, residents are required to participate in a QI project during their training.
